If you've ever come across T. Robert S. Broughton's Magistrates of the Roman Republic and wished it were easier to navigate, you're in the right place. Each link below leads to a specific year and its magistrates. For now, the dataset focuses mainly on the late Republic and includes the magistrates of the cursus honorum (i.e. quaestor, aedile, praetor, and consul) as well as the tribunes of the plebs.

Its coloured sections show the offices present (see legend), and the total height of the fill reflects how “busy” the year was, i.e. how many magistrates it had compared with the year with the highest count (which is filled completely).
