99 BCE(aged 41)Praetor
Broughton: Since the governors of Spain in 94 and 93, during and after the consulship of Caelius, are known, his term must precede that of Didius, who was assigned to Spain while Consul in 98. The emblem of the boar of Clunia on the coins which commemorate him suggest that his province was Nearer Spain. This is therefore the latest possible date for his praetorship, but he may have been a Praetor in 100 and a Promagistrate in 99. (MRR2)
