Tribune of the Plebs
Broughton: His first measure was a bill, hastily carried and promptly annulled, to distribute the votes of the freedmen in all the tribes (a). The second was the famous law to give Pompey command of the provinces of Cilicia and Bithynia and Pontus, and of the war against Mithridates (b). Manilius was accused in 66 at the end of his term of office for res repetundae before Cicero (c), and in 65 for maiestas before another Praetor and convicted (d).
